How deep do foundations need to be in Ontario?
In Grey and Bruce Counties, foundations must typically be poured at least 4 feet (1.2 meters) below grade. This ensures the footings sit below the frost line, preventing the ground from “heaving” and damaging your structure during the winter.
Do you use rebar in your foundation walls?
Absolutely. We use horizontal and vertical rebar reinforcement to provide the tensile strength needed to resist lateral soil pressure and ensure the wall remains “Solid” for the life of the building.
How long does it take for a foundation to cure?
While we can usually strip the forms within 24 to 48 hours, the concrete takes approximately 7 to 28 days to reach its full design strength. We coordinate closely with your framing crew to ensure the timeline is safe and efficient.
